Call for Cooperation
"Slobodna Domena" (Free Domain), the Croatian Open Source and Design Co-operative launched the Solidarity Fund - a fund through which they want to support projects and activities that they consider to be socially useful and relevant and consistent with the goals and values of the co-operative.
What is the Fund doing and how does it work?
All the profit of the Cooperative remaining after the settlement of legal obligations stays in the Solidarity Fund, and the fund's role is triple: scholarships and projects in which they recognize the potential, mutual assistance pool for co-op members and support to the investments of the Cooperatives and Projects.
To keep the Solidarity Fund transparent, all fundraising information is fully accessible to members of the Cooperative, and projects can be proposed throughout the year.
We invite everyone interested to come up with suggestions of cooperation! We want to invest time, knowledge, human and material resources in the realization of ideas that are in line with our goals and principles:
- fair distribution of excess value
- Democratic decision-making
- defending and extending the definition of public goods
- protection and promotion of equality and the fight against discrimination
All natural and legal persons may apply. The only thing that matters to us is the compatibility of ideas with our efforts to transfer funds from the Solidarity Fund to projects that are both socially developmental and solidarity.
Keep in mind that the Free Domain is largely concerned with design and digital platforms, and this is the area where we can best help. We are dreaming about spreading the platform cooperative virus and we hope that this call will contribute to this!
What does the Free Domain Have of it?
The Solidarity Fund definitely does not have a financial benefit for the Free Domain - the funds we invest are non-refundable and we are not looking at them as the business investment from which we expect profits. Our motivation to launch the Solidarity Fund is to support quality, sustainable and socially beneficial projects, and our biggest reward is the pleasure that the project we supported has survived, stood on our own feet and continued to grow and grow independently.
